Capabilities |
The ESACRACK software
package is intended to be used for damage tolerance
analysis of spaceflight vehicles and payloads as
well as ground support equipment. The package consists
of various analysis tools, which allow the user
to :
-
Generate load and stress spectra (ESALOAD).
ESALOAD creates a representative stress spectrum
at the location of interest on a specific part of
a space vehicle structure. Derived stress spectra
can then subsequently be used in fatigue and/or crack
growth analyses (using ESAFATIG and/or NASGRO).

|
|
-
Perform fracture mechanics analysis (NASFLA),
- Generate stress intensity factor solutions (NASBEM),
- Process crack growth material data (NASMAT),
- Perform fatigue analysis (ESAFATIG). ESAFATIG can perform
fatigue calculations for metallic materials, based on a linear damage
accumulation method. Stress spectra created with the ESALOAD module
of ESACRACK version 4 can be used for the analysis. |

Technologies |
The
ESACRACK graphical user interface was designed and
developed in object oriented language (C++). The
kernel was developped in Fortran. |
NASGRO
was developed and maintained by the US Agency NASA.
ESALOAD, ESAFATIG was developed by the NLR and DOREA under ESA contract. |
